Can I make this cake in an oven or air fryer?

This recipe has been specifically developed for a microwave, and I have not tested it in an oven or air fryer. Therefore, I cannot recommend using either and suggest using a microwave.

What is a substitute for Biscoff cookie butter?

You can use any other cookie butter (or biscuit butter) for this recipe. Unfortunately, cookie butter cannot be substituted for other types of spreads or butters.

Why is my Biscoff mug cake dry?

Mug cakes tend to be a bit more crumbly as they don't contain eggs, but the cake should not be dry. Dryness indicates either too much flour or overcooking.

An incredibly tender and moist Biscoff mug cake made in just 5 minutes to satisfy your late night sweet cravings

Ingredients

3 tbsp Biscoff cookie butter
4 tbsp milk
1 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Instructions

In a 10-12oz microwave safe mug, stir together the Biscoff cookie butter, milk and oil until well combined
Add the sugar and stir in
Sift in the flour, baking powder, vanilla and pinch of salt, and gently stir until combined. Take care to scrape the edges and bottom of the mug
Clean the edges of the mug and microwave on high for 60-90s (it takes me 80s to make this cake)
Serve warm, with some more Biscoff cookie butter spread on top
